Leadership is something I have been brought up with. My dad is the biggest advocate for leadership. And we were brought up learning about all the attributes of a good leader. So when it comes to leadership it always has a special place in my heart. I am somewhat of an introvert but I know how to bring out my social and leadership skills when I have to. I applied for the position of education coordinator because education is right up my alley. I am in an education program in which we study the different kinds of curriculum, and their pros and cons. We dwell on better ways that we as future teachers\/educators, we can bring up a new generation in a healthier way. We don’t just teach children but we take into account the different socio-economic differences with each child that contribute to their success. I think I’ll be a great asset to the team because I know that ACSioN is known for their enlightening debates\/exchanges concerning people of African decent, so I hope to be able to contribute to and enrich these debates with my interest and knowledge on such matters. In addition , when I do something I do it the best I can. I am very organized and I know how to work with a team and lead one too if I have to. I adapt quickly to new roles and responsibilities. My experience and skills make me the most useful candidate for outreach coordinator at ACSion. Not only do I have an inviting character when it comes to to speaking to potential members in person, but I also possess practical experience in outreach coordination. This experience comes from my permanent part-time job, in which my current position is of lease renewal agent, the sum of which is almost entirely reaching out to past clients and trying to entice them to come back to the dealership and buy another car. I have also gained more experience in outreach coordination through my position as a research assistant in Concordia\u2019s Alumni Engagement and Events department, where portion of my tasks include reaching out to all alumni who submitted content for Concordia\u2019s 50th Anniversary Homecoming events. My skills would also be useful as education coordinator as I have a very strong and organized work ethic, having been a receptionist doing administrative work for over a year, I have built the necessary skills to keep track of current events and affairs. In addition, as a political science student, I make it my job to be aware of the actualities around the world. Anyone who knows me personally, knows my passion for the need to foster academic excellence among Black youth, hence my commitment to such a role will be unmatched.
